3. Agenda - Moved by Judy Smith & seconded by Ellen Wilson that the
agenda be approved, with the addition of a report by Marion Martin under
New Business. Carried.

4. Minutes of the February 15th meeting - Moved by Jim Bakker &
seconded
by Tressa Kirby that the minutes be approved as written. Carried


5. Business arising from minutes - The bands for the Santa Claus Parade
are pre booked.

6. & 7. Correspondence - i. Agenda for the Canadian Chamber of
Commerce Annual General Meeting to be held in Charlottetown, P.E.I.,
September 24-26, 2005.
ii. Notice of the BRAVO meeting in Bancroft
on April 8th. Free session on regional economic development. Jason
Danielis & Jim Bakker are to attend.
iii. Thank you from the Madoc COPE for our
letter of support for their Trillium Grant Application.
iv. Letter of resolution from the Municipality of Centre Hastings
accepting the Urban Revitalization Proposal.
v. Letter from Citizenship & Immigration
concerning nominations for Volunteer recognition awards, aimed at young
people between the ages of 15 & 24 years showing outstanding levels of
volunteerism.
vi. Canadian Heritage Foundation application for funding for
Canada Day Celebrations. Application deadline March 31st. Marion
Martin to make an application through the Madoc Marketers.

8. Financial Report - Bank Balance $4357.18. There are 60 paid
members.
to date.

9. Old Business - none

10. Kelly Foxton and the Artisan's Guild will take care of revolving
displays on the south side of the Cultural Centre. She will need access
when displays need to be changed.


11. Rob Kennedy, Quest Paint ball Games, has asked for the Chambers
support for his business. Since he did not appear at the meeting no
action was taken.

12. Main Street Initiative: There will be a meeting on March 21st,
2005. 7:00 p.m. at the library, downstairs, to organize a management
committee. There are 19 names on the contact list and six names yet to
come.

13. Comfort Country Business directory is proceeding and will be
published by the end of April or early May.


14. New Business: i. Marion Martin gave a report of the Market
Vendors plans for the Canada Day weekend. Local entertainment will be
enlisted (5 groups). There will be a colouring contest, a Canada Day
Cake and the Square will be decorated in Red & White.
ii. The Maplefest committee needs judges for the Chili Cook Off
at 11:30 a.m. at the Market Square. Patricia Wiggins and Tressa Kirby
volunteered. A request was made for the loan of tables and chairs -
Ellen Wilson volunteered the use of tables from her business.
iii. Rob Price noted that the Madoc Agricultural Society
celebrates its 100th anniversary this year and the a team of marketing
students from Loyalist college are making it a project and are looking
for sources of funding.
iv. John McDonnell discussed the need of an economic development
committee to help encourage small industry to locate to this area, and
that the support of the Chamber of Commerce would be needed. Moved by
Jim Bakker and seconded by Tressa Kerby that an economic development
committee, as a subcommittee of the Chamber of Commerce be formed.
Motion carried. The committee members are John McDonnell, Jean
McDonnell and Judy Smith.
v. Election of Officers. By acclamation the officers for 2005/6
are:
President - Rob Price
Vice President - Tressa Kerby
Secretary - Ellen Wilson
Treasurer - Judy Smith

15. Next Meeting: April 19th, 7:30 p.m. downstairs at the library.
