1. Call to order by Rob Price, President

3. Approval of Agenda: 1. Moved by Jim Bakker & seconded by Judy Smith that the agenda be approved. Carried
4. Minutes of the Sept. 19th meeting: Moved by Ellen Wilson & seconded by Jim Bakker that the minutes be approved with the correction of the Bank balance which should read $2005.31.
5. Business arising from minutes: None.
6. Correspondence: i. Reminder from Jim Bakker that the phone should be answered in his absence. ii. Thank You letter from the Madoc Market Vendors with an enclosed cheque of $100.00 as a donation to the Santa Claus Parade. iii. Letter from the Ontario Chamber of Commerce recruiting us to join. iv. Letter and plaque from CFDC given to the Chamber of Commerce for the encouragement of growth of small business. v. Letter from Hydro One forwarded from Doug Parks concerning the Christmas Light Exchange where two strings of old lights can be exchanged for one new set of LED lights at no charge. Richard Peck and Jim Bakker will oversee the programme.
7. Business arising from correspondence: None
8. Financial Report: There is $2387.40 in the bank.
9. Old Business: i. Madoc & District Main Street Initiative: Is proceeding . Nothing new to report as of this date.
ii. Community Radio: Jim Bakker is working on production and Terry Perrin is doing an interview program as well as handling advertising. Progress is continuing.
iii. Comfort Country ... At a Glance: This format will continue for another year. Brett Publishing is already working on next year’s issue. Comfort Country will need a liaison to work with the publisher.
iv. Market Square events: This group is working on a float for the Santa Claus Parade. Next season’s events are being planned and Richard Peck is the new president of the group.
v. Santa Claus Parade: There was a letter form the Canada Day Committee asking permission to hold a barbecue before the parade as a fund raiser. It was agreed this would be okay and would pose no problem. There was an e-mail from Leona Dombroski confirming she would be in the parade. A vehicle will have to be arranged for her. A to-do list was handed out and the parade planning is going smoothly.
vi. Welcome Wagon: Two new coordinators for the area have been hired: Tammy Greenly (Centre Hastings) and Susan Warburton (Marmora).
vii. Governance Seminar: Twenty-two people attended this seminar concerning the responsibilities of board members of non-profit groups. It was agreed that the effort should be made to get qualified people to take positions of responsibilities within these boards.
10. New Business: i. Message to Members: A letter has been composed to members reminding them to remit their annual dues. Jim Bakker has requested a list of the highlights of the Chamber Events for this past year to be enclosed with this letter.
11. Next Meeting: Tuesday, November 21st, 7:30 p.m. at the Madoc Public Library.
