3. Approval of Agenda:
Approved by Richard Peck and seconded by Ellen Wilson. Carried.

4. Minutes of June 19, 2007 meeting:
Minutes accepted by Ellen Wilson and seconded by Richard Peck. Carried.

5. Business Arising from Minutes:
None.

6. Correspondence:
Chamber of Commerce window decals now available.

Todd of Contact North has acknowledged the Madoc Chamber of Commerce for
Supporting their program.

7. Business Arising from Correspondence:
None.

8. Financial Report:
Judy Smith reported a bank balance of $5605.04 of which the following allocations are made:
$526.83 - Banners
$ 58.76 – Market Square
$ 34.91 – Radio Station CKOL 100.7
There are presently 83 members of the Madoc Chamber of Commerce.
Financial Report accepted by Ellen Wilson and seconded by Rhonda Cowie.

9. Old Business:
Madoc & District Main St. Initiative Update
· Minden gave a presentation on First Impressions demonstrating a visitor’s perception of the Village Madoc. This report will be made available for those who are interested.
· Main Street Project – signage to be improved. Signs are not noticeable.

· Andrew Redden resigned as Economic Coordinator for the County. The position for the Main St. Project is advertised.

· Comfortcountry.ca is responsible for the disbursement of $26,000.

· Community Radio (J. Bakker)
Nothing new to report.

· Market Village Events (R. Peck)
There are times when there is an influx of vendors but other times when then numbers are down. Presently there are 35 vendors.

· Canada Day-It should be noted that the two big sponsors were Heritage Canada who donated $2500 and Ivanhoe Cheese Factory Inc. who also donated $2500 for this event.

· September 2007-There will be a street dance.

· Comfort Country……..At a Glance (J. Bakker)
Will be published and distributed this week.

· Economic Development
CIP – Andrew of the Centre Hastings Council has documented improvements of to be made to the Community. Building owneres are being encouraged to improve their property.

· Major Events for the area
Shelby attended the meeting with the Agricultural Fair Board and its been approved that events will occur in the fairground in off-season.

10. New Business:
· Skate Park Festival-August 4; there will be all-day competitions.

· John MacDonnell updated the Chamber on the Medical Facility to be constructed in Madoc. There is approval for a 6000 sq. foot, one floor unit to be built. The cost per square footage is $150.00. However, there are still deliberations about constructing a 2 floor unit instead but this adds another half a million to the cost. The one floor will accommodate 4 doctors and a family unit with the possibility of a 5th doctor.

August 21st at 7:00 p.m. at the Library and Cultural Centre (lower level).
