  1. Approval of Agenda: Moved by Jim Bakker & Seconded by Judy Smith that the agenda be approved. Carried.

  2. Minutes of the June 21st meeting: Moved by Judy Smith & seconded by Ellen Wilson that the minutes be approved as read. Carried.

  3. Business arising from minutes: none.

  4. Correspondence: none.

  6. Financial Report: Bank account - $4087.77. The insurance bill of $1134.00 has been paid. There are two new members, TEAM Hair Design & Bob Bancroft, Realtor.

  7. Old Business: i: Andrew Redden will be presenting the survey results at the next Main Street meeting in October. Jim Bakker feels this data should be a topic for the Chamber of Commerce meeting in November.

  1. Jim Bakker reported for the Economic Development Committee. Jenna Seaboyer’s work is progressing and Chris King from Belleville is also acting as a consultant. Main Street is going to be looking at retail business development so a parallel committee will be formed for retail as the Economic Development Committee is concerned with industrial development.

  2. The Marketing for Small Business meeting was attended by 30 people and was well received.

  3. The Product Development, Packaging and Partnering for the Tourism Industry Seminar, September 26th Ten people have registered in advance. Unfortunately there was a conflict with the meeting called by the Ministry of Transport concerning the redevelopment of the Highway 62 corridor between Ivanhoe and Madoc.

  1. New Business: i. Bad Money - No report available

  1. Market Square washrooms - These washrooms are to be cleaned twice weekly by Donna Cournyea. The Chamber will send a letter to the Municipal Council asking that the washrooms be opened everyday during the summer to be used as visitor washrooms.

  2. Santa Claus Parade - Jim Bakker is concerned about fund raising, so it was suggested that he contact Claudine Prosper who has volunteered to help in the past. It was discussed that this year the parade should end at the Market Square, and that only hot chocolate and cookies be served instead of hot dogs. The Chamber will decorate the Market Square again this year.

  3. E-Commerce Workshop is to be held October 20th as a part of Small Business Week. Community Futures will be hosting this event at the Two Loons.

  4. Another Rock Fest is to be held, Friday, September 20th at the Market Square.

  1. Next Meeting: Tuesday, October 18th, 7:30 p.m. at the Madoc Public Library.
