December 13th 2018 – Awards, Presentations and Thanks!

At the Regular Meeting of Council last night a number of staff  were recognized for their dedication, with awards for their years of service to the Municipality of Centre Hastings. The following individuals were recognized:

Roger Tayler – 15 years of service

Jennifer Nielsen – 10 years of service

Clark Wood – 10 years of service

Cody Wood – 10 years of service

Valerie Przybilla – 5 years of service

Brad Watson – 5 years of service

Centre Hastings Fire Department

Mike Kerby – 40 years of service

Stuart Kerby – 40 years of service

Cathie Lahey-Francis – 20 years of service

Terry Baumhour – 15 years of service

Doug Nicholson – 10 years of service

Josh Nicholson – 5 years of service

Amy Dennis – 5 years of service

We thank all of the recipients for their dedication to both their roles and to the community.

In addition to all of the awards, the Municipality were the proud and grateful recipients of a grant for $5000 from Frank Cowan Insurance, supported by McDougall Insurance and Financial. The funds are going to be used to purchase some sun shades for our splash pad, a much needed project. Thank you!

September 28th 2018 – X-Ray Clinic

The Municipality of Centre Hastings has stuck a partnership with STL Diagnostic Imaging bringing a state-of-the-art mobile x-ray clinic to the Tri-Area Medical Centre in Madoc. The much-awaited clinic was formally opened on Friday 28th September 2018 with municipal, provincial and federal representatives in attendance.

The Municipality of Centre Hastings are delighted that their vision to bring an x-ray clinic into the community has finally come to fruition. This addition to the Tri-Area Medical Centre will help to eliminate the need for residents to travel to larger urban centres for medical services. The Municipality of Centre Hastings strive to ensure that the highest quality and variety of services are available to their community, this clinic is just another example of their efforts to encourage investment and attract services to rural Ontario.

 

June 28th 2018 – Thank you to the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 363 in Madoc:

Medical Officer, Beth McBeath, Centre Hastings Fire Department accepts a donation from the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 363 in Madoc. President Lana Lalonde presents the cheque in the presence of Mayor Tom Deline, Councilor Eric Sandford, members of the Legion and members of the Centre Hastings Fire Department.

Each year, Ontario Command of the Royal Canadian Legion receives applications for assistance through their charitable fund from service agencies across the province. This year the Centre Hastings Fire Department received $2,594.00 to purchase medical equipment.

Since 2004 the Centre Hastings Fire Department has received $61,292.00 with which they have purchased defibrillators, first aid kits, medical trauma kits, oxygen trauma kits, an ice water rescue sled and a thermal imaging camera.

Members of the Royal Canadian Legion should be very proud of their support and contribution to the community.

On behalf of the Municipality of Centre Hastings and the community Mayor Deline, Members of Council and the Fire Department would like to say thank you to all Legion members.

April 9th - The BIT committee have been given $1000 by Heartland Farm Mutual’s iHeart Community Fund to put towards new street furniture. Thank you to McDougall Insurance and Financial for the nomination, to Heartland Farm Mutual for the grant and to the BIT Committee for their hard work on the project.
