MUNICIPAL ROADS PLAN
The
municipality resurfaces as many rural roads as possible
as funding becomes available. There is no plan to straighten or
widen roads; they are not intended to be high- speed expressways.
Blacktopping is the best possible means of dust control; it eliminates
the need for grading and makes winter maintenance easier. Since
the phasing out of Dombind, the more expensive calcium chloride
has been used for dust control on the roads that have not yet been
resurfaced.
Since
blacktopping is relatively expensive (approximately $16000/km
for a 20' road) only a few roads can be done each year. The
plan shown on the map lays out planned future activity
in the improvement of our roads.
