Mission Statement: To enhance the quality of life for the Municipality of Centre Hastings residents through the promotion of leisure and recreation services.

Mandate:

Coordinates Sports, recreational, and Cultural Activities

  • Reviews schedules of sports, recreational, and cultural activities
  • Makes recommendations on scheduling where possible conflicts may exist
  • Invites all sports, recreational and cultural activities to join and actively participate in the Committee's objectives
  • Conducts research on similar Committees elsewhere, and makes recommendation for ongoing Committee effectiveness

Promotes Participation in such Sports, Recreational and Cultural Activities that Enrich the Community

  • Encourages expansion of existing and new activities
  • Promptly posts all activities on Municipal web site and Skatepark LED Sign and otherwise as deemed appropriate
  • Invites local media to attend and join the Committee

Reviews the Quality of Parks and Facilities

  • Reviews information received in regard to facilities' safety and physical accessibility by all members of the Community
  • Makes recommendations, as appropriate, to the Municipality for maintenance and/or repair/amendment

The Regatta is a free event open to all ages, and there are great prizes. The Regatta is the perfect opportunity to ride the waters of Moira Lake in your own boat, or use one of the boats provided at the Regatta. Regatta takes place at: Kiwanis Beach on Highway 62 just south of Madoc.  Everyone is welcome for Free Family Fun!
