The Fundraising committee for the new Tri Area Medical Centre held four very successful Town Hall meetings the week of November 19.

The Meetings started in the Municipality of Tudor and Cashel (Gilmour) on Monday night, followed by Madoc Township (Eldorado) on Tuesday, Centre Hastings (Ivanhoe) Wednesday and ending on Thursday night at Madoc (Centre Hastings).

The audiences were provided an extensive overview of: the newly created Family Health Team, the factors assessed to decide on the need for a new Clinic in Madoc and the satellite office in Gilmour, the ways funds will be raised for the new Centre, and the fundraising events and ticket sales now underway.

After a question and answer segment, it was clear those in attendance were strongly behind the new Centre construction, and were proposing many great ideas to meet the $250,000 goal for donations by residents of the three Municipalities. These monies will then be combined with the amounts sought from the various levels of Government to pay for the overall structure.

The Fundraising Committee want to thank all who came out to the Meetings, and welcomes the support of all full time and seasonal residents of our Municipalities to ensure the Centre is completed by the end of 2008.
