Hydrant Flushing Commencing Week of: April 27,2026

Hydrant Flushing Scheduled for Madoc Village

The Municipality of Centre Hastings advises residents of Madoc Village that routine hydrant flushing will take place beginning the week of April 27th, 2026.

Important Notice to Residents

If you experience discoloured water during this time, please run your cold water tap for 5–10 minutes until the water runs clear. This is a normal and temporary occurrence associated with hydrant flushing operations.

This important maintenance program is conducted periodically as part of the Municipality’s ongoing commitment to maintaining a safe, reliable, and high-quality drinking water system.

Hydrant flushing plays a key role in:

  • Maintaining and improving overall water quality
  • Removing sediment from watermains
  • Ensuring adequate flow and pressure throughout the distribution system
  • Verifying the proper operation of hydrants and valves

What to Expect

During this maintenance activity, residents may experience:

  • Reduced water pressure
  • Temporary discolouration of water (red, yellow, or brown)

This discolouration is not harmful and will clear once flushing activities are complete.

Resident Advisory

Residents are also asked to:

  • Check water clarity before using appliances such as dishwashers or doing laundry
  • Minimize water use during flushing activities where possible

The Municipality appreciates the patience and cooperation of residents as staff complete this essential maintenance work to support the long-term reliability and performance of the water distribution system.
